New Information!

Two Points of Interest:

We are requesting input and feedback from all members of the Fire Instructor's Society on ideas -- goals and objectives -- that you might have for the new 5-year strategic plan for the Fire Services Board.

FYI: Normally membership fees are due at the July meeting held during the Instructor College. However, since there has been no Instructor College held for the past few years, all members from the previous dues cycle are still considered in "Good Standing" until this year's instructor college.

VSFSI is currently working on the following issues and projects:

Assisting with the drafting of the VDFP No-Show Policy.
Assisting with the drafting the upcoming 5-year strategic plan for the Virginia Fire Services Board.
Assisting with the upcoming Instructor College, to be held in Bedford County in June of this year. Click here to visit the VDFP web site for more information on this opportunity.
We continue to mentor new instructors for the Fire Officer 1 and 2 programs.

Issues and projects that VSFSI worked during 2009:

Updated the VSFSI constitution and bylaws. Click on the links below to view these documents.

- Proposed Revised Constitution & Bylaws
Continued to maintain the VSFSI web site.
Assisted with the course development of the new Fire Officer 1 and 2 programs.
Conducted Train-the-Trainer classes for the new Fire Officer 1 and 2 programs.
Helped to mentor new instructors for the Fire Officer programs.
Helped to sponsor the Roanoke Valley Fire Officers Seminar.
